RULE 2. SUSPENSION OF RULES

Effective Date: 3/1/2003

On its own or a party's motion, the supreme court may—to expedite its decision or for other good cause—suspend any provision of these rules in a particular case and order proceedings as it directs, except as otherwise provided in Rule 26(b) .

Rule 2 was amended, effective March 1, 2003.

This rule is substantially the same as Fed.R.App.P. 2, and is intended to make clear the power of the court to expedite cases of pressing concern to the public or to litigants.

Rule 2 was amended, effective March 1, 2003, in response to the December 1, 1998, amendments to Fed.R.App.P. 2. The language and organization of the rule were changed to make the rule more easily understood and to make style and terminology consistent throughout the rules.
